Pre-Construction Termite Treatments

We have two options when it comes to termite pretreat control, the conventional tried and true liquid treatment and a wood treatment that is applied to the studs, sill plate and wood sheathing. Both of our pretreatment options come with an extendable and transferable 5-Year No Fee Warranty.

Bora-Care Wood Treatment

Bora-Care has been tested by the USDA Forest Service since October of 1991 and was approved for pretreat applications in January 1999. The active ingredients in the Bora-Care Product are boric acid and boron. These two active ingredients can be found in everything from tomatoes to toothpaste, which makes the Bora-Care Pretreat a “Greener” Option when talking about the environment. An average sized home can be treated with only four gallons of mixed material.

The Bora-Care treatment consists of treating all wood in a structure that a subterranean termite would first come into contact with.  When applied correctly this product works not only as a toxicant but also as a repellent. This treatment comes with a 5-Year No Fee Warranty as well as a 5-Year Structural Warranty from the manufacturer of the product. After five years the homeowner can renew the warranty for for an annual fee to continue their termite protection. If renewed, the structural warranty will extend up to 12 years at no additional charge.

Conventional Pre Slab Liquid Treatment

If a homeowner is looking to treat their home with a liquid treatment, the preconstruction phase is the best time to have the liquid material applied. Our Pre Slab liquid treatments includes treatment of footings prior to them being poured, treatment of substrate (sand, rock, or dirt) prior to the placement of vapor barrier and mesh, and finally a rodding/trenching treatment around the exterior the foundation will complete the treatment once the final grade of soil is placed around the foundation. This treatment comes with a 5-Year No Fee Warranty. After five years the homeowner can renew the warranty for an annual fee to continue their termite protection. We include an annual termite inspection with the warranty and it can be transferred to different owners.
